Client Service Manager
Location: Abingdon, VA or Bristol, TN
Reports To: Firm Client Accounting Manager
Status: Full-Time (Non-Exempt)

Position Summary
This position plays a key role in managing the finances for clients. The Client Service Manager is responsible for the day-to-day accounting and payroll functions for numerous clients utilizing integrated cloud-based accounting systems.
Primary Responsibilities
- Performing basic accounting and payroll procedures and tax payments
- Analyzing and reconciling bank and general ledger accounts in conjunction with closing client books on a monthly basis
- Preparing various monthly, quarterly and annual reports including sales tax and 1099’s
- Perform other duties as necessary
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 1 – 3 years of recent work experience as a bookkeeper and payroll clerk
- Strong organization, oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong computer aptitude, which includes expertise with Microsoft Excel and Word as well as experience with accounting software
- Analytical skills with particular attention to detail
- Critical thinking and ability to evaluate a situation, research options, and present optimal solutions

The Client Controller is responsible for performing general accounting functions. The Client Controller must possess strong time management and analytical skills, attention to detail, and solid communication abilities. This position ensures the accurate preparation of tax returns and financial statements as well as analysis and reporting of accounting data and acts as liaison between the company and clients in providing the required information and ensuring that proper information is maintained.
Primary Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare tax returns for individuals and business entities
- Draft financial statements and related disclosures
- Review and monitor client bookkeeping
- Perform other duties as necessary
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field or accounting post-baccalaureate
- 1 – 3 years of recent work experience at a public accounting firm
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic business and technology
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and audit/assurance software
- Proficient with the preparation of individual and business tax returns (Ultra Tax CS experience a plus)
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Critical thinking and ability to evaluate a situation, research options, and present optimal solutions

Office & Tax Administrative Support
Location: Abingdon, Virginia

Position Overview
The Office & Tax Administrative Support Staff plays a dual role:
- Serving as a communication and information specialist, connecting clients and team members, assisting with software tools, and facilitating project tracking.
- Supporting the tax team by initiating tax projects, document flow, coordinating client communications, and ensuring accuracy and timely filing.
This position is ideal for someone with strong communication skills, a customer-service mindset, and a willingness to learn and grow in a professional accounting environment.
Key Responsibilities
Office
- Answer phones, greet clients, and act as the first point of contact for the firm
- Assist clients with document intake, requests, and secure exchange of information
- Provide support and guidance to clients in using firm software and portals
- Schedule appointments, maintain calendars, and coordinate meetings
- Manage office mail, supplies, and general administrative tasks
- Assist with project tracking and ensure timely updates are communicated to clients
- Support team members with administrative and clerical needs as assigned
Tax Administrative Support
- Initiate tax projects and set up workflows in firm software
- Organize and create electronic binders for tax documents
- Communicate project status updates to tax clients
- Request and track additional information needed for tax completion
- Send completed tax returns to clients, receive signatures, and file returns
- Manage and update tax project and task lists
Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in an administrative or customer service role
- Excellent interpersonal skills and effective oral and written communication abilities
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate schedules and events
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new technology and software tools
- Ability to work independently, make decisions, and manage priorities effectively
- Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and dedication to teamwork
